CVS, Legal & General, Fidelity Investments selected as 2024 Finalists.

Today, Computer Measurement Group (CMG) with its partner Mullen Foundation announced CVS, Fidelity Investments, and Legal & General as finalists for the 2024 IMPACT Innovation Awards. The awards program, which began in 2021, was created to recognize individuals and teams who have dreamed, designed, and implemented IT improvements to drive significant change and extraordinary outcomes within their organizations. Past award recipients include Capital One and Broadcom.

Finalist CVS embarked on a $3 million, year-long project to redefine performance engineering and architecture. The initiative involved AI anomaly detection, predictive analytics, and serverless architectures. This multidisciplinary endeavor, involving experts across several fields, led to a 35% reduction in operational costs and notable improvements in system responsiveness and throughput. The project – marked by collaborative synergy, adaptive strategies, and cross-disciplinary cohesion – serves as a benchmark in applying innovative AI and cloud solutions to enhance performance engineering and operational efficiency.

Fidelity Investment’s team created a cutting-edge, real-time event-driven platform that transformed legacy systems and integrated AWS services to significantly enhance event processing and data consistency. Overcoming budget and time constraints they introduced features like a self-service UI for client onboarding, leading to over 200 enterprise-wide use cases and substantial cost savings. The project, executed by a diverse team of over 20 professionals, highlighted the importance of adaptive project management and user-centric design in a dynamic technological environment.

Finalist Legal & General successfully restructured their mainframe operations through the iMpala Project.  This incorporated modern engineering and cloud and data technologies to improve the developer experience and increase delivery speed while maintaining quality. The transformation involved collaboration with third parties for environment, developer tools, and CI/CD improvements which lead to significant time and cost savings, as well as making mainframe development more accessible and efficient. The project overcame challenges in changing long-standing practices and technology limits.  It achieved increased productivity, reduced environmental impact, and created a more effective, unified development process.

“In our third year, the IMPACT Innovation Awards attracted three times the number of applicants as in 2023,” said Amanda Hendley, President and Managing Director of CMG. “These finalists represent the top change-agents in enterprise technology. It was a challenge for our judges to select these finalists and our 2024 winner. We look forward to announcing the winner at the CMG IMPACT Conference in Atlanta on February 7. “
